Aquacycle final conference Lebanon

The Lebanese University organized the final conference of “Aquacycle” project on sustainable wastewater treatment and reuse in the Middle East region, in a ceremony sponsored by the Minister of Environment, Dr. Nasser Yassin, and hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Tripoli.

The ceremony was attended by President Bassam Badran, the Director of Project in Lebanon, Dr. Ahmad ElMoll, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Tripoli and the North, Tawfiq Dabboussi, and a number of deans and directors of faculties at the Lebanese University, in addition to Municipal, political, social, developmental, academic and educational figures, and representatives of the liberal professions unions.

“Aquacycle” project includes partners from Greece, Malta, Spain, Lebanon, Tunisia, France, Greece, Algeria and Morocco, and was implemented with financial assistance from the European Union within the framework of the Mediterranean Basin Program (ENI CBC).

The AQUACYCLE project will change the paradigm of viewing wastewater as an unsafe effluent, to that of an abundant all-year-round resource that has multiple uses.
