The Abdeh LARI station, Akkar, is characterized by the presence of olive tree fields of various types and ages, a central point for strengthening and actively supporting the Akkar olive sector. The olive tree field is equipped with a weather station to measure several parameters: humidity, temperature, wind speed, etc.
· Reducing the effects of climate change on agriculture, it is important to significantly strengthen the capacity of agricultural systems to adapt to long-term climate trends.
· Helping to adapt to the effects of global warming and increase yields while reducing emissions through sustainable agricultural practices such as agroecology.
· Improving soil health and fertility through the use of biochar-compost mixtures, based on the principle of the circular economy, as well as crop diversification
By implementing a National Food Security Strategy, which can support local farmers and agricultural technologies and improve the sustainability of food production.
Agriculture is the backbone of the economy and food security. There are immense opportunities to use resources more efficiently and increase productivity, thereby improving the country’s economy by adapting to technological developments and addressing climate change.
